Aubrey began her ballet training at the age of three in her hometown of Nashville, TN. Training at Nashville Ballet and later with Dance Theatre of Tennessee, under Elaine Thomas, offered her opportunities to perform student roles with their professional companies. Kazimi attended numerous summer intensives including Boston Ballet, Harid, and The Nutmeg Conservatories earning year-round scholarship offers. She completed her training at The School of Pennsylvania Ballet under Arantxa Ochoa. While there she performed corps roles in Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, Wheeldon’s Swan Lake, and Dark Angel in Balanchine’ s Serenade in the school’s tribute to company founder, Barbara Weisberger.
Following Pennsylvania Ballet, Aubrey accepted a trainee position with Cincinnati Ballet’s second company. With Cincinnati, she danced a variety of classical and contemporary works. Most recently as a member of OBT II, under Lisa Sundstrom, Kazimi performed Serenade, Irving’s Swan Lake, corps roles and Harlequin in Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, and the principal role in Balanchine’s Walpurgisnacht in the annual school performance. During her time off, Aubrey studies psychology at the University of Pennsylvania.
