Training: Evergreen City Ballet, The School of Ballet Arizona, Boston Ballet, Walnut Hill School for the Arts, Orlando Ballet
Ava began her professional ballet training at age 11 with Evergreen City Ballet in her hometown of Seattle, Washington: A school under the direction of Kevin Kaiser and Louise Nadeau. She has attended summer programs at Boston Ballet, Walnut Hill School for the Arts, The School of Ballet Arizona, and Orlando Ballet. In 2014 she was invited to join the School of Ballet Arizona, where she completed her final two years of training under Carlos Valcárcel. Her second year with SBAZ she was asked to join Ballet Arizona’s studio company (on full scholarship) where she had the honor of dancing title roles within school productions, such as Gamzatti in La Bayadère and Odile in Swan Lake.
Since joining Ballet Arizona in 2016, Ava has had many opportunities to continue to grow as an artist. Some of her favorite ballets she has performed include: George Balanchine’s Square Dance, Symphony in 3 Movements, Walpurgisnacht, Western Symphony, as well as Ib Andersen’s La Bayadère, Sleeping Beauty, and Swan Lake, and the U.S. premiere of Napoli.
