Erin is a certified American Tribal Style® dance teacher and Sister Studio of FatChanceBellyDance®. She started dancing around the age of 4, and has explored ballet, jazz, tap, acrobatics, lyrical, modern, hip hop, Latin dance, and Irish step dancing. She found ATS® in July 2010 and began studying with Lenay Dunn and Jorden Kolding, both Sister Studios of FatChanceBellyDance®. She joined their student troupe, Padmakali, around July 2012, and was invited into Kamalah Tribal in November 2013. She received her ATS® General Skills and Teacher Training certifications in San Francisco in January 2017.
Erin appreciates how ATS® posture protects the body while building strength and flexibility. She finds that being in the moment and focusing on the grounded, precise movements of ATS® can have a calming, meditative effect. As a musician herself, Erin’s favorite dance opportunities involve performing with local musicians and collaborating with drummers in developing the Ramsey Method Project – a system she spearheaded for allowing nonverbal communication between dancers and drummers during an improvised set. She is excited to partner with Robin in co-teaching ATS® and continuing to grow their branch of the ATS® family tree.
