Ib Andersen’s critically acclaimed production of Giselle features lavish scenery and costumes, soulful music and beautiful choreogrpahy epitomizing the pure classicism of the Romantic ballets. Giselle tells the story of a young peasant girl who, betrayed by her lover Albrecht, dies of a broken heart. When Albrecht visits her grave at night, Giselle appears and protects him from the Willis – vengeful female spirits who haunt the forest.

“This kind of detailed acting and character building is rare in ballet today, and what really sets this production [Giselle] apart from others is the clarity of its storytelling.”
