Upper Division Summer Intensive Schedule and Tuition

The Summer Intensive offers serious ballet students the highest caliber of intensive classical training, augmented by a rich diversity of dance forms necessary to meet the eclectic demands of dance companies today.

School of Ballet Arizona’s summer program offers six full weeks of intensive classes. Our program offers students ages 11 + the opportunity to make advances in technique and in the way they dance as they are taught by internationally renowned faculty from The Stuttgart Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Ballet de Camagüey of Cuba, The Joffrey Ballet, Ballet Nacional de Cuba, The National Ballet of Canada and The Pennsylvania Ballet!

Our summer intensive gives students a real feel for Phoenix living and what life is like with the School of Ballet Arizona family. Students will have classes five days a week as well activities during the weekends. Courses offered are ballet technique, pointe, pas de deux, men’s technique, variations, repertory and BAZ’s repertory, men’s conditioning, dance history, flamenco, strength and conditioning, modern, jazz, ballroom, and choreography.

Dorms for Upper Division Summer Intensive

SBAZ draws students from all over the country and is proud to announce Arizona State University housing provided for our summer students (ages 13 + only).

Location: Arizona State University Downtown Campus Taylor Place Dormitory at 120 E Taylor St, Phoenix, AZ 85004

Dormitory Cost (additional to tuition cost): $2,256
Additional Costs:
Mini Fridge/Microwave $25 (required)
Buss Pass (required – cost depends on length of stay)
Linen Package $20 (not required)

Amenities: Double occupancy rooms, laundry facilities, small kitchenette in common area, bathrooms vary from private, suite-style and single-gender, community-style bathrooms.

Supervision: School chaperone will stay on sight seven days a week.

Meals: Meal Plans are not offered at the dormitory. Students will be taken to a local grocery store (Safeway, Trader Joes or Whole Foods) every Sunday evening to purchase weekly groceries. The chaperones will assist students in planning meals and purchasing appropriate food items. Often students will prepare meals and eat together and/or go out to eat occasionally.

Transportation: Dormitory is located on local bus and light rail routes. All students will take the local bus to and from Ballet Arizona under the supervision of the chaperones.

All students need to make arrangements via airport shuttle or taxi to get them from the airport to the dormitory when they arrive. The School of Ballet Arizona does not provide transportation to and from the airport to the dormitory.
