Job Type: Part-Time, Hourly

 

About the Role:

Join Ballet Arizona as a Teaching Artist and bring the joy of dance to schools and community programs! You’ll teach ballet classes in after-school and non-traditional settings, plan lessons, and create inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Teach ballet classes for diverse ages and abilities.
  • Implement curriculum and plan weekly instruction.
  • Maintain positive relationships with partners, staff, and families.
  • Support Community Engagement programs on and off-site.

Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in dance, education, or related field preferred.

  • Ballet teaching experience and active dance practice.

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.

  • Reliable transportation for travel within Maricopa County

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Spanish proficiency.

  • Experience teaching in schools or community settings.

  • Knowledge of Classical Ballet and choreography.

Schedule & Physical Requirements: 

 

  • After-school availability at least two days per week (Aug–Nov; Jan–Mar).

  • Ability to demonstrate dance steps and lift up to 20 lbs.

  • Some evenings/weekends required.

Work authorization/security clearance requirements:

 

  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
