Make no mistake, Phoenix is full of lively art and entertainment events—you just need to know where to find them. Creativity is flowing throughout the city and we’re loving it. From art walks to outdoor movie nights, here’s a list of some of our favorite ongoing art and culture events in Phoenix.
When: First Friday of every month.
Where: Downtown Phoenix.
What: Peruse the streets of downtown Phoenix from 6-10 p.m. every first Friday of the month and enjoy touring galleries, cultural venues, performing arts studios and more. Artlink offers a free trolley tour every First Friday, making it convenient for people to get from one place to the next. Visit Artlink’s website for a map to plan your evening.
City Lights Movie Nights
When: Second Friday of every month.
Where: CityScape Phoenix, Patriots Park.
What: Load up your blankets and chairs because it’s outdoor movie night every second Friday of the month! Starting in September, a featured flick like next month’s “The Incredibles” is available for movie goers starting at 6:30 p.m. Soak in the cool night air (hopefully) and enjoy this family-friendly free event. Attendees also get the chance to win some pretty neat prizes!
Ballet Under the Stars
When: September 12 – 15, 2018
Where: Tempe Sports Complex, Tempe, Fountain Park, Fountain Hills, Estrella Lakeside Amphitheater, Goodyear, and Steele Indian School Park, Phoenix.
What: Once a year, Ballet Arizona offers free performances across the Valley. Members of the community are welcome to attend “Ballet Under the Stars”, where they’ll get to experience several exciting pieces of dance while soaking in the unique outdoor setting.
When you’re in the mood for a more formal evening with your date, Ballet Arizona is the perfect choice to fulfill your craving. As we enter into the 2018-2019 season, let our productions inspire and entertain you as we showcase the growing artistic excellence of Ib Anderson and the Ballet Arizona dancers.
Take a look at our blend of new works and choose the one that lures you in the most.
