An Update on Live Music for The Nutcracker
December 20, 2021 – Ballet Arizona regretfully announces that due to COVID exposure within the orchestra, The Phoenix Symphony will not be performing for the remaining four performances of The Nutcracker at Symphony Hall. All performances will continue despite this circumstance.
This decision was made jointly by both organizations out of an abundance of caution.
While performing to live music from The Phoenix Symphony is such a wonderful part of our Nutcracker tradition, we realize that during these unprecedented times, health and safety is paramount.
For the remaining four performances of The Nutcracker (December 21, 22, 23 and 24), our dancers will be performing to a beautiful professional recording of Tchaikovsky’s classic score.
We understand that the pairing of live music with live dance is the reason for many to attend The Nutcracker so we will be offering full refunds or Box Office credit towards an upcoming performance to anyone who wishes to request either option. Refund or Box Office Credit requests may be made via this form. Please note that refunds and Box Office Credit will be processed in January.
While we are deeply disappointed about this circumstance, audience members can still expect the same breathtaking dancing, incredible staging and magical Nutcracker story everyone has come to know and love.
We thank you for your patronage, and for your understanding and cooperation as we navigate this situation.
