Upper Division Summer Intensive 2021 Auditions

Intermediate and Advanced Students Accepted,  Ages 11 – 22
Six week Intensive from June 14 – July 23, 2021

Audition Information

Head-shot photo and a full body photo in the first arabesque are required. $35 audition fee.

Studio Company members are selected from attendees of the Summer Intensive. See descriptions below for video submissions.

Pre-Recorded Video Auditions

The video should be no longer than 10-15 minutes and include the following – Barre work, center work consisting of adagio, pirouettes, petite and grand allegro.

Women – Please include pointe work demonstrating an adagio, pirouettes en dehors and en dedans.

Men – Please include tours en l’air with 2 turning combinations.

In-Person Auditions

Auditions occur Sunday, March 14th at the Ballet Arizona studios. Details are as follows:

  • Upper Division (ages 10-14) – 10:00-11:30am
  • Upper Division (ages 15-20) – 11:30am-1:00pm
  • Audition Fee is $35
  • Pre-registration is required, including a head-shot photo. Please submit photo as an attachment with the registration submission.
  • Female students should wear a solid color leotard and tights. Male students should wear fitted bottoms or tights with a fitted T-shirt. Female students are to have their hair in a bun; all students should have their hair neat and off of the face. Ladies auditioning for the Upper Division program should bring their pointe shoes.

Please note that we require masks to be worn in all common areas in our building. Parents are not currently allowed in the building as a COVID safety precaution. Classes are not open to observation. Students will not be permitted in the building more than 15 minutes prior to their scheduled class.

Once registration is submitted, we will contact you with a date and time for a live video audition. Because audition times are dependent upon class schedules, the audition date provided may not be negotiable.

For our 2021 program, accepted students will be given the option to select any combination of weeks to attend. We plan to continue implementing rigorous health and safety protocol, including staggered class times, reduced class sizes, social distancing, and other measures in accordance with the recommendations of the CDC and local health authorities. We will unfortunately not be offering housing for the 2021 program.
