Wells Fargo is proud to be part of the unique fabric of Arizona that makes our great state so special. We’ve been helping to support the communities we serve since we first opened our doors in this great state in 1877. And we are proud to support Ballet Arizona, an organization that brings the world of art and culture to the lives of so many.
Wells Fargo has a long-standing tradition of helping to support the communities in which we do business throughout Arizona and here in the Valley. It’s part of who we are as a company and it’s a commitment we are very proud of and one which remains a key focus for our company. In 2015, our Arizona team members volunteered 110,344 hours to serve their communities and we invested more than $8 million in Arizona schools and nonprofits, including more than $3.7 million personally contributed by our team members during our annual Community Support Campaign.
Wells Fargo measures the success of our business by the success of communities in which we do business because we believe we must do our part to invest in our community and help build a better future for all. Our ongoing support for the arts contributes to our community’s vitality. We look forward to continuing to invest in the arts to ensure that Arizona continues to be a great place to live.

When Ballet Arizona presented the U.S. premiere of Napoli in February of 2015, SRP joined in the celebration as a corporate sponsor for the production. SRP is the acronym for the Salt River Project, a company that has been in business serving central Arizona since 1903, 10 years before Arizona became a state.
The Salt River Project is the umbrella name for the Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District which serves as an electrical utility for the Phoenix metropolitan area, and the Salt River Valley Water Users’ Association that serves as the primary water provider for much of central Arizona. As a provider of water and powered electricity, SRP serves more than one million customers a year and is the largest supplier of well-water in Arizona.
SRP believes in giving back to the community and the goal of its Corporate Contributions Program is to make the community a better place for its customers and employees to live and conduct business. In 2019, SRP contributions to the community totaled nearly $4 million in grants to over 300 nonprofits in five areas: Arts & Culture, Civic Programs, Education, Environmental Programs, and Health and Human Services.
Ballet Arizona is grateful for SRP’s ongoing support, but also its tremendous belief in supporting the Valley community, making it a vibrant place to live and work.

Driving east on Washington Street, you will encounter one of Phoenix’s most venerable landmarks, The Stockyards, Arizona’s Original Steakhouse.  In 1947, The Stockyards opened its doors with a menu focused on serving the best prime rib and hand-cut aged steaks.  With an emphasis on hearty flavors, The Stockyards’ embraces the culture and culinary trends of the Southwest, utilizing the freshest and highest quality home-grown ingredients in new and innovative ways.
In 2004, a visionary team led by owner Gary Lasko meticulously restored and revitalized the restaurant. Today, The Stockyards is listed on the City of Phoenix Historical Register for both its central role in Arizona’s cattle industry and its relevant architectural style. Visit the restaurant’s 1889 Saloon and take a seat at the hand-carved mahogany bar underneath the stunning crystal chandeliers or view its wonderful collection of Western Art and Historic Photos of the Stockyards in the 40s and 50s.

On April 15, 1926, Charles Lindbergh flew the first American Airlines flight – carrying U.S. mail from St. Louis, Missouri, to Chicago, Illinois. After 8 years of mail routes, the airline began to form into what it is today. Now more than ninety years later, after US Airways flew its last flight, American and US Airways operate as one airline.
As part of forming the new American Airlines, the company launched a locally-driven initiative to bring corporate charitable giving and team member volunteer service together as the cornerstones of its community investment strategy. Through its Regional Councils, American seeks to engage organizations who match its singular mission of supporting nonprofits in three focus areas – education, human services and military/veteran affairs.
The Regional Councils are made up of team members in each of our hub locations. During bi-annual meetings, team members review applications from organizations looking to partner with American and examine how the company’s unique resources will support their mission and strengthen the local community.
In short, American looks for opportunities to maximize the positive impact it can make in the Valley of the Sun, where nearly 10,000 American team members live and work. And thanks to strong partners like Ballet Arizona, American is well on its way to accomplishing it.
As we prepare for our Desert Botanical Garden performances, we thank Sunbelt Insurance Holdings for its supports of this truly unique outdoor event and look forward to our continued partnership.
