Le Carnaval des Animaux by Alexei Ratmansky
Diversions by Ib Andersen
Untitled by Alejandro Cerrudo (World Premiere)
Set to Camille Saint-Saens’ beloved score, Alexei Ratmansky’s delightful Le Carnival des Animaux (Carnival of the Animals) brings a whimsical menagerie of animal to life. The program also features a world premiere work by Hubbard Street Dance Chicago Choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo and the return of Ib Andersen’s sophisticated and stylish Diversions, set to Benjamin Britten’s Diversions for Piano and Orchestra Op. 21.
“In terms of patterns, arresting images, varied use of stage space, constant changes of tone and musical attentiveness, this [Diversions] – using 20 dancers – is remarkably skilled dance-making.”
- Alastair Macaulay, The New York Times
