What is Studio Spotlight?

Studio Spotlight is an intimate rehearsal featuring our Artistic Staff and the dancers of Ballet Arizona. Step inside the studio at Ballet Arizona’s Dorrance Theatre and experience a behind-the-scenes look at each upcoming production. This is the closest you will ever be to the work without being on the stage! Each one-hour gathering includes time for a Q&A discussion.

What can you expect at the Giselle Studio Spotlight?

Before the event, audience members will get a chance to hear from special guest Alastair Macaulay, former Chief Dance Critic for The New York Times, who will speak on the history of Giselle.

Then, audience members a look behind the curtain at a full rehearsal of Giselle, led by a member of our Artistic Staff. They will discuss the creative process of getting a full-length storybook ballet from the studio to the stage. Afterwards, audience members can participate in a Q&A with one of our dancers.
