Camila Ibarra is a Transmission Line Engineer at a Fortune 100 company, Burns & McDonnell.
Camila has dedicated her efforts toward modernizing the electric grid by designing infrastructure that delivers electricity and communication. Prior to joining Burns & McDonnell, Camila obtained her bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Arizona State University where she took various leadership positions in guiding engineering students through design projects and tutoring them in structural-mechanics courses. She also practiced public speech by sharing her story of being the second-to-youngest of ten siblings, and first to pursue a college degree, in hopes to motivate future college student candidates.
Camila is passionate about uplifting the local community of which she dedicates her artistic talent to. She installs murals at Title I elementary schools to elevate the classroom environment, inspire young students, and empower marginalized groups. Upon donating a Black Lives Matter mural on the streets of her hometown in Tucson, Arizona, she raised over $6,000 for bail out funds and education for the black community, with the painting earning publications on HBO and the New York Times.
On her free time, Camila enjoys weightlifting, hiking, attending art and music events, and spending time with her family.
