Anca Castillo

Anca Castillo is a business leader, artist, multi-award-winning storyteller, and lifelong advocate for the transformative power of the arts. She is Co-CEO of DesignConvo LLC, a human-centered strategy and consulting firm, where she works as a human-centered design expert, strategic facilitator, and storytelling coach to help organizations and leaders solve complex challenges and work better together. She has designed and led hundreds of strategy sessions, trained executives and higher-education leaders, and taught facilitation at Arizona State University. Anca is also the co-author of the #1 New Release book The Collaboration Illusion: Why Working Together Sucks and How to Fix It. Her professional practice draws deeply from her experience in strategy, futurism, collaboration, and creative problem solving.  A dancer from an early age, Anca holds a degree in dance, has been recognized in choreography competitions,  performed with Phoenix-based Scorpius Dance Theatre, and completed a summer internship with the internationally renowned dance company Pilobolus. Her artistic experience also encompasses musical theatre, performance art, and improv acting, which she continues to practice today. Across the boardroom, classroom, stage, and studio, Anca is fascinated by how people create meaning together. She brings to Ballet Arizona’s Contemporary Council a distinctive combination of business strategy, artistic experience, community engagement, and a deep personal commitment to dance.
