Ballet Arizona by the Numbers

Ballet Arizona’s mission is to create, perform, and teach outstanding classical and contemporary ballet and to serve our communities through superior education and community engagement programs.

We are committed to supporting diversity throughout our organization and in our community and take pride in sharing the rich tradition of classical ballet and the contemporary evolution of the art form with Arizona audiences. Every year, Ballet Arizona engages over 74,000 people through our performances, programs, and The School of Ballet Arizona, and employs 30 professional dancers and over 60 faculty, production, and administrative staff from countries around the world.

One of the most common questions we receive, is “What does it cost to run a ballet company?” So we are sharing a brief snapshot of how we invest the generous contributions of our donors and the ticketing revenue from our patrons, into delivering our mission. Whether it’s $130 for a single pair of pointe shoes, $125,000 for our annual student matinee program, or the $600,000 needed to create our performances at Desert Botanical Garden, every dollar matters.

Here is a breakdown of the revenue, expenses, and important role you and our community play in operating Ballet Arizona:
