With a professional background in business, finance, and leadership, Ali’s career spans the public and private sectors. Today, she and her husband own a commercial contracting and construction firm in Phoenix, where she also serves as head of finance and human resources. She has 13 years of finance experience ranging from public higher education to private wealth management, and most recently served as senior director of Arizona State University’s central budget office. She holds an MPA in public finance from Arizona State University and a BA in finance and Spanish from Hillsdale College.
Ali’s love of the performing arts began at 3 years of age with her first ballet classes in her hometown of Davison, Michigan. Through high school, she continued dancing, joined the varsity choir, and held casting and student director roles in local productions of Les Misérables, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Fiddler on the Roof, and Annie. Since moving to Arizona in 2019, she has reignited this love by studying ballroom and Latin dancing as well as becoming an enthusiastic patron of Ballet Arizona. She feels incredibly fortunate to have a world-class ballet company here in Phoenix and is honored to support Ballet Arizona as a member of the Contemporary Council.
