More Than a Performance: The Impact of Angel Night

“Events like Angel Night create a sense of belonging, bring people together, and expose them to the beauty and creativity of ballet.” – Angel Night Attendee

This holiday season, Ballet Arizona continued our beloved tradition of The Nutcracker Angel Night performance. On December 17, Symphony Hall was filled with excitement, anticipation, and holiday magic. From the moment guests stepped through the doors, they were welcomed with Nutcracker-themed arts and crafts for children, a cozy storybook reading, and memorable photo moments with the Sugarplum Fairy. It was a truly unforgettable evening, one that was more than just a performance. It became a place of connection, wonder, and shared joy.

Each year, through partnerships with local nonprofit and service agencies, our Community Angel Night performance reaches more than 2,200 children and families. For many, it was not only their first time experiencing live ballet—it was their first time ever stepping inside a theatre. These experiences reinforce why our belief of “ballet for all” matters and how access to the arts strengthens the communities we serve.

“It’s not just entertainment—it’s an opportunity for inspiration, connection, and cultural enrichment. Seeing everyone enjoy the performance reminds me how important the arts are in building a vibrant, supportive community.”

Why Your Support Matters

Mission-driven programs like Angel Night, demonstrate the meaningful impact of philanthropy at Ballet Arizona. We believe in the power of the arts and know that even a single performance can inspire, uplift, and change lives. Your generosity opens the doors of Symphony Hall to families who might never otherwise attend, ensuring that people across Arizona can experience the joy and wonder of ballet at no cost.

Angel Night is made possible through the incredible generosity of Ballet Arizona’s donors and supporters, whose commitment helps remove financial barriers to the arts. As a Ballet Arizona Angel, your support allows children and families to experience the magic of The Nutcracker, spark curiosity, and create life-long memories. It is a powerful reminder that the impact of the ballet extends far beyond the stage.

“We appreciate that we were able to offer an experience to kids and families that they would probably never have experienced without the Angel Night program.”- Angel Night Attendee
