PHOENIX, AZ — Ballet Arizona opens its 36th season with a collection of three short ballets in “Contemporary Moves,” starting Oct. 29.

The three pieces in “Contemporary Moves” feature music from Philip Glass and Giacomo Meyerbeer and choreography by Ballet Arizona’s Nayon Iovino, as well as by Justin Peck and Sir Frederick Ashton.

“This performance showcases three ballets that shine the spotlight on masterful and diverse choreography, music and tone from celebrated choreographers,” the company said in a news release.

“Contemporary Moves” runs from Oct. 29-31 and Nov. 5-7 at the Dorrance Theatre and features the ballets “In Creases,” “Les Patineurs (The Ice Skaters),” and “Mambaz.”

“The Dorrance creates an almost immersive experience for audience goers as they will be closer to the dancers than in any other Ballet Arizona venue,” the news release stated.

The Dorrance Theatre is located at 2835 E. Washington St., Phoenix, AZ 85034
